Brynn Esterra Edmark (Nod)
As your therapist, I hope to support you with kindness, compassion, curiosity, encouragement, and playfulness. Together, we can work toward finding clarity about that which is no longer serving you and uncover more meaningful ways to engage life – to live more for the stories and purposes you prefer.
I believe stories saturate our lives – stories about who we are, how we might show up as people, and for which purposes. When we’re young, we make meaning in terms of stories we’re born into – those of our communities. As we grow, we move toward possibilities of influence, rewriting and redefining our stories, honoring some and borrowing new ones. Our stories are where our identities live.
I’m a white person of Scandinavian, German, and Scots-Irish descent. I’m queer, neurodivergent, AMAB (Assigned Male at Birth), mostly masculine presenting, and most aligned with the agender and non-binary labels. My pronouns are “they” and “them.” I grew up in the 1980s and 90s (X/millennial cusp; “Xennial”) in Snohomish County, and I’m informed by experiences with mental health stigma, ableism, anti-fat bias, neurotypical hegemony, and cis-heteronormativity.
I write, garden, make art, and enjoy cooking and spending time with loved ones. I’m a musician – I will tinker with any instrument that is available, and I love to sing. I continue to spend much of my time learning about our world (especially volcanos and geography) and exploring language and ideas. I volunteer with an LGBTQIA+ youth group in Snohomish County, and I’ve worked as a preschool teacher and as an inpatient counselor of children and youth. It was at this last opportunity that I discovered my passion for mental health care and realized where I needed to focus my life’s effort.
I am passionate about helping others find meaning in their struggles.

(Short Text Profile)
I come to counseling work by way of my own stories of suffering and hope, and it is my deepest honor to assist others who are seeking relief. As a therapist and human being, the story I hope to live into is one of co-liberation. I view my role as collaborative - together we can work to address the problems you are encountering, in ways that will work for you, and uncover opportunities for empowerment and a more meaningful life. May all beings find relief, and may we move toward living in the stories we prefer.Therapy Approach: Narrative, Person-centered, Emotionally Focused, Mindfulness-based, and Sex Therapy.I am available for In-person and Telehealth sessions with adults and youth.I am currently a Clinical Intern in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program at Antioch University Seattle, where I received my Certificate in Sex Therapy.
